Newton Abbot 3:13 – One They Think Plenty Of

We head to Newton Abbot tomorrow for the 3:13, and there’s one in here that could be seriously underestimated at the prices.

Best Night is a recent arrival from France, now in the care of David Pipe, and from what I’m hearing this is one they’re quite excited about – particularly from a racing club perspective.

It’s often worth noting when these types come over with a bit of confidence behind them, and this one fits that mould. There’s a feeling that she could have a bit of fun this season if things fall into place.

Her last run in France saw her beaten just a neck, which is strong enough form in itself, and she now makes her UK debut in a race that doesn’t look anything out of the ordinary.

Given that background, I was expecting a bit more respect from the market – so seeing 16/1 on offer looks on the generous side to say the least.

If she adapts to these conditions and shows what’s apparently been seen at home, she has every chance of being competitive here.

THE VERDICT

This looks like another cracking each-way angle. There’s clearly a bit of belief behind this one, and the price more than compensates for any unknowns.

Best Night (16/1) – Each Way

At these odds, it wouldn’t take much for this to look very big indeed come the off.
