York Racecourse

The Course

York is one of the Premier tracks in Europe having recently won the Flat Racecourse of the Year Award, for the fourth year, and also came out top in The Times newspaper survey of all Britain’s racecourses.

In recent years York Racecourse, as well as hosting many spectacular York Races, has also played host to Royal Ascot at York in 2005 and The Ladbrokes St Leger in 2006.

How To Get To York

Travelling to York By Car: The racecourse is located just outside York city centre and is easily accessed from both the M1 and A1. Fllow the A64 and A1036. If you are travelling to York from the north then you should follow the A19 and A59 and then York Ring Road in order to avoid the city centre. The race course is well sign posted.

Travelling to York By Train: Trains run from Londons Kings Cross and take just under two hours. Trains also run from Edinburgh and they take about two and a half hours. Manchester and Birmingham trains are also direct and once at York Train Station the course is approximately a mile away and an easy walk. Buses are readily availbale from the station on race days and run every 20 mins.
