Newmarket Rowley Mile

The Course

The Rowley Mile is used to host races at the beginning and the end of the flat racing season. This racetrack comprises a 1 mile 2-furlong straight, with longer races starting on the adjacent Cesarswitch and Beacon courses. The racecourse features minor undulations and a pronounced dip in the final two furlongs of the run-in.

The Facilities

The Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure: The largest and most popular enclosure at Newmarket combines laid-back style with great atmosphere. The Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure offers excellent views over the racecourse as well as access to the Winners’ Circle and Parade Ring. Bookmakers’ facilities are available, along with a selection of excellent food outlets.

The Rowley Enclosure: The Rowley Enclosure is a family-friendly area, which caters for racing fans looking for a more informal experience of racing at Newmarket. This area offers views of the racecourse from temporary stands, access to bookmakers and a variety of mobile food outlets.

How To Get To Newmarket

Newmarket By Car: Take the M11 from London and exit at Junction 9 onto the A11 dual carriageway. Leave the A11 at Six Mile Bottom and follow the signs to Newmarket. The A1 provides access to Newmarket from the North.

Newmarket By Train: Newmarket Railway Station offers a bus service to Newmarket Racecourse. Trains to Newmarket can be taken from Liverpool Street or Kings Cross, via Cambridge.
