Wokingham Stakes 2026

The Wokingham Stakes is one of Royal Ascot’s most competitive sprint handicaps, run over 6f. It is usually a brutal big-field test where proven handicap form, recent speed figures, draw position, pace setup and the right trends profile all matter.

This year’s renewal is headed in the market by Binhareer, Double Rush, Realign, Ten Pounds, Spy Chief, Completely Random, Fandom and Far Above Dream. From a pure trends perspective, Fandom and Hammer The Hammer both achieved a perfect 15/15 match, while Binhareer, Double Rush, Sondad and Royal Zabeel all score strongly on 14/15.

The star-rating table below follows the same expanded format as the previous Royal Ascot race pages, with trends, ratings, speed, trainer angles and overall profile all combined into one final view.

Horse Trends Rating RPR/TS Profile Speed Trainer Positives Negatives Verdict
Fandom 15/15 386 115 / 104 ★★★★★ ★★★★☆ ★★★☆☆ Perfect 15/15 trends match, strong handicap profile, recent win and a good enough RPR/TS blend for this race. Richard Hannon and Sean Levey recent strike-rates are not standout. Main Selection
Binhareer 14/15 384 115 / 97 ★★★★☆ ★★★☆☆ ★★★★★ Strong 14/15 trends score, consistent profile, William Haggas yard in form and Tom Marquand booked. Topspeed is not as strong as the main speed dangers and he is short enough in a big field. Main Danger
Double Rush 14/15 382 115 / 95 ★★★★☆ ★★★☆☆ ★★★★☆ Strong 14/15 trends score, progressive winning profile and Andrew Balding yard operating well. Speed figure is slightly below the strongest sprint-handicap profiles. Ratings Danger
Hammer The Hammer 15/15 380 118 / 110 ★★★★★ ★★★★★ ★★☆☆☆ Perfect 15/15 trends score, strong RPR, excellent Topspeed and Kevin Ryan has previous Wokingham success. Kevin Ryan yard is cold in the last 14 days and recent form needs forgiving. Each-Way Angle
Ten Pounds 13/15 378 120 / 116 ★★★★☆ ★★★★★ ★★☆☆☆ Best RPR/TS combination in the race and strong recent run. Only 13/15 trends, trainer/jockey recent data is quiet and has a Postdata GE concern. Ratings Horse
Sondad 14/15 374 116 / 107 ★★★★☆ ★★★★☆ ★★★☆☆ Strong 14/15 trends score, good speed figure and arrives in winning form. Needs to step forward again from a lower-rated profile. Value Play
Royal Zabeel 14/15 372 116 / 108 ★★★★☆ ★★★★☆ ★★★☆☆ Strong trends score, good RPR/TS balance and a solid handicap profile. Needs to prove he is ahead of the handicapper in this deeper race. Shortlist
Spy Chief 12/15 368 114 / 96 ★★★☆☆ ★★★☆☆ ★★★☆☆ Highest official rating in the race and strong Postdata profile. Top weight and only 12/15 trends in a competitive handicap. Solid Contender
Completely Random 13/15 366 113 / 108 ★★★★☆ ★★★★☆ ★★★☆☆ Strong 13/15 trends score and good historical RPR/TS profile. Recent finishing positions leave a question mark. Possible
Far Above Dream 13/15 364 114 / 108 ★★★★☆ ★★★★☆ ★★★★☆ Progressive profile, recent winning form and James Owen yard is going well. Needs to prove this is not too much too soon in a deep handicap. Progressive Chance
Realign 10/15 360 114 / 103 ★★★☆☆ ★★★☆☆ ★★★★★ William Haggas yard in strong form and arrives after a win. Only 10/15 trends, which leaves him below the main shortlist. Market Respect
Apollo One 11/15 358 112 / 116 ★★★☆☆ ★★★★★ ★★☆☆☆ Excellent Topspeed and proven big-field sprint form. Older profile and 11/15 trends makes him more of a place/speed angle. Speed Outsider

Final Turf Talk Filter

The final shortlist is headed by Fandom, Binhareer, Double Rush, Hammer The Hammer, Ten Pounds, Sondad and Royal Zabeel.

Fandom comes out on top because he is one of only two perfect 15/15 trends matches and has the right type of progressive handicap profile for the Wokingham. The recent win is a big positive and he looks a very fair each-way price.

Binhareer is the main danger. He has a strong 14/15 trends score, represents the in-form William Haggas yard and has been very consistent. The only reason he is not the selection is that his price is shorter and his Topspeed figure is not as strong as some of the deeper-value runners.

Double Rush is the progressive ratings danger, while Hammer The Hammer has to be respected as a perfect 15/15 trends match with a strong RPR/TS profile at a big price.

Ten Pounds is the standout ratings horse on RPR and Topspeed, and Sondad appeals as a value play with a 14/15 trends score and a strong recent win.
