Ayr Racecourse

The Course

Ayr racecourse is a dual purpose racecourse and is a level and left handed track. It is the same for both the flat and jumps tracks. The course is approximately 1 mile 2 furlongs in distance. The course will suit a strong galloping race horse. The course consists of two lanes and the jumps races are run on the inside lane of the track. The chase course has a total of nine fences, and the run in is 210 yards long. Ayr racecourse hosts the Scottish Grand National and also the Ayr Gold Cup Festival.

The Facilities

All the enclosures at Ayr racecourse have an excellent selection of bars and restaurants and also snack outlets. Families are very welcome at Ayr racecourse with special play areas for younger children.

How To Get To Ayr

By Road: 

If you are travelling to Ayr take the A77 and continue on the bypass. As you approach the bypass turn off you will see signs for Ayr Racecourse and it is well signed from here on in. The racecourse is only 1 mile from the junction and it is on your left hand side. One of Ayr racecourses benefits is the Free Parking available.

By Train:

Ayr Station is only a short walk from the racecourse and there are very regular local and main line rail services to Ayr Station.
